Sherbrooke Street’s ‘active travel street’ will be within the Garden City Cycleway and will create a safer and slower on-road based route for people using active travel such as scooters and cycling. We are seeking input from the community about the types of changes that could be applied along Sherbrooke Street to transform it into an ‘active travel street’. A design will be prepared for the trial, shaped by community feedback, looking at temporary changes to test as well as permanent changes. The trial will be evaluated, and this may set an example for other streets throughout Canberra.
Community members, especially close neighbours and people who travel here regularly, are invited to:
· Complete an online survey before 21 March 2025
· Attend one of the initial community design workshops
– Saturday 22 February, 10.00am to 12.00pm (in person)
– Tuesday 11 March, 5.30 to 7.30pm (in person)
· Attend a final workshop to comment on the designs that have been developed on Thursday 10 April, 5.30-7.00pm (online).
